Gujarat: India

Gujarat is the Western most State in India covering an area of 197,011 square kilometers. Gandhinagar is the Capital of the State. The state has prospered throughout the history because of it's proximity with the Indian Ocean and neighboring countries. Textiles, Chemicals, Agriculture and heavy machinery are some of the major products produced in the State. Population of the state is about 42,232,000. The State of Gujarat located in West India and North East of the Gulf of Cambay. The Western and South-Western part of the State touches the Arabian Sea. North-East of the State borders with Rajasthan. Madhya Pradesh State.To the South-East is the State of Maharashtra.


Gujarat's Government divides the State into subparts called Jilla(Districts). There are 19 such Jillas as follows:
